• Mirth loading any other file format ?

Hi All,
I was looking at Mirth software and it looks very good.
The question I have for you guys is :
Can we import another file format ?
Sometime, hospital send us data information in flat file format.
Is there a way to extend the reader and specify any kind of spec?

I like the way we can deal with the channel listener but as your surely know, we dont necessary receive the file in HL7.
Comments ?
thanks!

AFAIK, the only one to load another file format than HL7/XML is using the preprocessor script.

Using the JS preprocessor, you can tranform your custom format into HL7 or XML.

Into the channel tab. There is a TextPane, with only a sentence "return message;"

The purpose of the JS preprocessor is to allow smo to modify the message as a text strig previos the processing steps

The following code in your preprocessor will convert any format to xml:

Code:
return "<message><data>" + message + "</data><message>";
You can then set the channel to XML and access your message from a transformer or filter with:

Code:
msg['data'];
(Note that the first XML element (message) is not used when referencing the data in E4X)
