The remove all messages from the dashboard does not reset counters.

Is this by design ???

Yes, can be done by "Reset stats". Makes sense.

Reashboard remove all messages

During the profiling of Mirth we found that there was a large performance hit by keeping the stats constantly refreshed by counting the total messages in the database. This caused exponential slow-downs once Mirth had hundreds of thousands of messages. We now store the stats separately so you can keep running totals of all messages.
