  • Install Issue - Cannot Bind to Port 8080

I am completely new to Mirth and i've done some looking around on this issue but have not been able to find an exact case that matches.

Currently attempting to install mirth using (mirth-1.8.0.4126.588-windows-installer.exe).

Once i click Next on the "Port Selection" screen i get a message regarding a connection issue to port 8080.

"Unable to bind to the given port number. Please select another port"

Doesn't matter which port i select i get the same result.

    Mirth Admin Launcher port: 8080
    Mirth Server port: 8443
    Mirth Server JMX port: 1099

    Any ideas?

    Thanks Much.

If you run this at the command prompt:
    Code:
    netstat -a
Do you see anything with a state of LISTENING on port 8080?

      Hey Gerald,

      Yes here's the string:

      TCP comp1:8080 comp1:0 LISTENING

Can this be turned off? Or is there a good alternative?

      Thanks for your help.

Port 8080 is already taken and being used by another web server. If you know what it is, you can just stop it, and try installing again. Or you can just configure Mirth to use a port other than 8080 during the installation process. There are hundreds and thousands of random ports to choose from.

This is funny, i tried this yesterday, just typing in random ports and none of them would go, just did it again and viola...

          Cheers.
