  • using a mysql db

    Hi all.
Sorry but I haven't understand how to use mysql as database for mirth server.
I used the mysql-database.sql for generating the db schema but may I write somewhere the username/password for use it?
    Thanks.

    Re:using a mysql db

    Hi supertoms,

use mirth server manager and configure mysql access in database tab. This string should look like this:

    jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/mirthdb

or something like this. Restart mirth service and voila!

      Re:using a mysql db

supertoms: I suggest you to remove from the .sql script the lines about creating the user/database and granting permissions.

IMHO, is best to create the database, user, and grants by hand, and then execute the rest of the sql script throught mysqladmin or so.

If you are running several Mirth instances using the same MySQL server, you must use different database users and schemas ...

Hi. Thanks all for reply and forgot me to reply only now.
One thing: I'm using Mirth on linux.
How can I launch the mirth server manager from a linux shell?

For development/testing you can cd to the Mirth directory and run this to make it executable:
          Code:
          sudo chmod a+x ./mirth.sh
          Then launch the server with:
          Code:
          ./mirth.sh
To run the server as a daemon repeat those steps on the "mirth-daemon" script.

The server manager is a Windows only helper application. For Linux, you will have to modify mirth.properties and the database properties file for the database you want to use.
