  • how do you get Mirth 1.7.1 to work with SQL 2005

    Hi,

I installed the Mirth 1.7.1 software on to a windows 2003 server.
I also Installed Microsoft SQL 2005 Express server on the same server.
I installed the SQL 2005 with mixed mode authentication and I created sa password.

I also created the MIRTHDB database in SQL 2005.

When I start the Mirth Administrator and go to the Database tab I choose SQL 2005. I also enter the sa and password for authentication. But when Attempt to start the Mirth Service, it fails. The Mirth log keeps saying SQL connection refused.

How do you configure Mirth 1.7.1 to use SQL 2005 database instead of Dirby database.

Please specifiy in details the steps I have to take to get Mirth 1.7.1 to work with SQL 2005 MIRTHDB database.

    thanks,
    baziz

You need to create the structure. It's similar to the next post:

    If the problem persist:

    1. Check if you can access to the db using a generic jdbc client (dbViewer, aquaDataStutio, etc.)
    2. Post the exact error log

      Hi all,

did you checked if an instance of SQL 2005 Express was created during installation?. If I'm right everything is ok but you need to modify your connection string.

what is the connection string suppose to look like.

Please show me an example of a correct connection string.

I am sure that SQL 2005 instance is running on the server.
I connected to it using SQL 2005 Managment Studio.

I also used the SQL 2005 sql script to create the MIRTHDB database.

The database is created. Connecting is an issue.

I assume the connection string in mirth administrator for SQL 2005 is valid and correct.

please show me the correct connection string.

        thanks,

Check using the Surface Area Configuration tool and make sure that remote connections are enabled. If you only enabled named pipes, for example, then TCP remote connections won't work.

          Also, checkout the following links

            Hi,

The problem was with the connection string.

            jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://servername:1433/MIRTHDB;instance=SQLEXPRESS.

With this connection string. I can start the Mirth HL7 Interface engine using Mithdb running on SQL 2005 Express.

            thanks,
