  • Launching Mirth failed

    hello,

i use a debian system and have problems to start mirth.
    I start mirth.sh and in firefox i open http://localhost:8080
Then a site appears where i can click at a button named "launch mirth admin.."
if i click the button, a windows appears where i can download a file.

    Any suggestions

    Thanks

    Jörg

    Re: Launching Mirth failed

It seems than you've not installed the java web start plugin for Mozilla. It's a problem of your browser, not of Mirth.

    Try the command line:

    javaws http://localhost:8080/webstart

If you're using a 64bits architecture, be aware than for Java Web Start, you need to install 1.5 for 32 bits.

      i tried http://localhost:8080/webstart

and the browser asks me where i want to save the file.

        Re: Launching Mirth failed

The other option is to just download the file then just run it manually with the javaws command. I find that this is easier, once I download the file I have no need to start the browser to administer Mirth I just run the webstart file.

The webstart 'plugin' should come with a standard JRE release from Sun. Firefox will then look in the JRE path for the launcher when it sees the java stuff.
