  • Advantage Database Driver and PrepareStatement

    Hi,

    I am trying to build an sql statement with bind parameters such as '?'. PrepareStatement isn't recognized.

    The following doesn't work either:

    var parameters = new Packages.java.util.ArrayList;
    parameters.add(paramvalue);
    dbConn.executeUpdate(sql,parameters);

    Error Message:
    (com.webreach.mirth.connectors.jdbc.JdbcMessageDis patcher:?): JavaException: com.extendedsystems.jdbc.advantage.ADSException: [Extended Systems][Advantage JDBC]Feature not supported.

    Any idea? Much appreciated

    The error message you're getting indicates that the feature just isn't supported in that JDBC driver, upgrade the driver or seek help for that driver.

    There might be a way to get around the driver not having that feature. Would it be possible to build the SQL directly? What data do you have and what kind of query are you trying to create?

      Thanks for your reply.

      We need to bind the string as some of the values may have some characters that may interfere with the string while parsing. [Characters such as ' or "].

      Do you happen to have the driver documentation? I am fairly new to this field.

      connection info: com.extendedsystems.jdbc.advantage

      Thanks.

        You're probably going to have to go looking for documentation for that driver from the vendor. Mirth is capable of working with just about any JDBC driver so whoever set up your system installed the Advantage driver. I would look for documentation from Advantage, if you find documentation for using that driver from Java it will be very close to how you would use it in Mirth.
