  • Source setup for calling an external API endpoint

    Hi All,
We've recently started using Mirth Connect and we need to call an external API endpoint for the source. What source connector type should we using if we need to call an external API endpoint.

I have used a HTTP sender destinations to connect to APIs.
    Best,

    Kirby

Thanks Kirby. I have also seen some channels use a JS Reader or a WS Listener on the Source, but the HTTP Listener would also work well.

You can't use a Listener to make an outbound call. A Listener listens for inbound message.

To elaborate on Kirby's suggestion. You can use a JS Reader to set your polling schedule, then return an empty message. In a HTTP (or WS) Sender destination you construct your request, and then handle the response in the response transformer.
