    mirth connect login issue

I just installed mirth 3.7.1 and sql server 2014 to use as the database instead of derby.
I'm having a problem logging into mirth connect.
The combination admin/admin does not work.
I'm getting incorrect username or password.
When I look at mirth-cli-config.properties the combination is admin/admin
A search for the solution yielded no results.
Most just say reset the password in the database with the update statement.
    What database? Derby?
How would I access the derby database?
I do have the database pointed to the sql server db, not derby, connects just fine.
I have the mirthdb created, nothing in there, no tables.
Just puzzled as to why the admin/admin won't let me in and how I can resolve the issue.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There should be tables there. Does the account the server is logging in as have the right permissions to create tables in the db? I think it's normal to give that account owner rights to the mirthdb.

Assuming everything is configured correctly, when Mirth Connect starts up it should create all the necessary tables. Are there any errors in the server log?

Always include what Mirth Connect version you're working with. Also include (if applicable) the code you're using and full stacktraces for errors (use CODE tags). Posting your entire channel is helpful as well; make sure to scrub any PHI/passwords first.

      - How do I foo?
      - You just bar.
