  • Unable to install and run Mirth server on a local machine

    Hi,
I had used Mirth about 4 years ago and had found it to be easy to install and run on windows XP.
The past few days, I have been struggling to install Mirth Connect on my Windows 11 machine.
In spite of Java being installed ,Mirth, once installed, stubbornly refuses to run.

    C:\Users\Dr. Lavanian>java -version
    java version "1.8.0_333"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_333-b02)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 25.333-b02, mixed mode)

I opened all firewalls and shut down my antiviruses but no go! The mirth administrator refuses to load.
And when I ran Mcserver.exe directly, I got a huge number of java errors in the cmd window.
Why has nextgen made Mirth so complex?
If there IS some way of getting Mirth Connect v4 working, then do help. Would really appreciate it.

BTW here are the errors that I got:

com.mirth.connect.client.core.ClientException: org.apache.http.conn.HttpHostConnectException: Connect to 127.0.0.1:8443 [/127.0.0.1] failed: Connection refused: no further information

Why has nextgen made Mirth so complex?
    Firstly, please read https://forums.mirthproject.io/artic...orum-etiquette

Complaing about a problem without details on how you installed java and mirth including what installer was used doesn't help much. I don't use Oracle's java due to license restrictions.

See this video for a full install using Amazon's java, see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/corretto...oads-list.html

(And given Windows XP end of life was in 2014, almost 8 years ago, seems a tad irrelevant, welcome to 2022!)

Went through the video, uninstalled everything and reinstalled java (by Amazon) followed by Mirth connect. Was able to get Mirth working. The problem was probably the original Java install.
      Thank you for the help.
