  • Mirth Connect User Group Meeting

Sent a message out some time ago and some replied and there was some exchange on the topic about reviving the community. I am interested in finding ways for us to all contribute. I have been in Open Source for a few years and all of the larger OSS projects would normally have an annual meeting with the User Group. To my knowledge, the Mirth Connect User Group has never had that and I think we should consider it. If I spent some time and found an academic setting for this meeting, maybe have some training sessions, how-to sessions, compile a list of bugs and maybe start down some paths of governance to manage ourselves - Would any of you be interested? I would take this on to organize, independently - just to help and volunteer. I am also interested in getting some folks from overseas to participate. I know of larger dev teams working on Connect that could benefit from such a User Group Meeting. Call ourselves the MCUG. The last one of these that I attended was at the NIH with the WorldVista group in DC. In a few days, I will send out a link to gauge interests from this group. Please feel free to message me.

Still working on a spot for the user group meeting. Need some volunteers to start putting together the sessions and the material that we will offer. If you are a Mirth Connect heavy hitter, reach out to me. [email protected].

    Thanks, Loyd

The user group will engage actively with Nextgen and provide a conduit to give code contributions back to the company. In addition, we will hold regular meetings and have working sessions to collaborate on various solutions. If you want a good example of this working go see:

            http://www.worldvista.org/Conferences

You can think of it as a way for us to more actively collaborate and to provide feedback back to Nextgen about what the community is looking for from the product. If they are not moving in that direction then we will find active contributors to enhance the product and provide that back to the community.

                (It went online yesterday.)
