  • Create ORU message containing RTF

    Can anyone suggest how to create an ORU message containing an RTF? I'm at a loss on how to start this.

    I receive a RTF and XML file once the transcription is complete.

    So far I have a channel with a file reader to read the RTF when it shows up in a folder.

    My thoughts are to have a default ORU message that the RTF would be inserted into. I believe I would also need to update the ORU with patient data. I believe I would be able to get this data from the XML file.

    Any hints that can get me going in the right direction?

    Thank you for any help you can provide.

      Re:Create ORU message containing RTF

      This is the general way how to put the rtf data into the hl7 message currently being processed:

      Code:
      var contents = FileUtil.read('c:/myfile.rtf');
      msg['OBX'][0]['OBX.5']['OBX.5.1'] = FileUtil.encode(contents);
      If you want the channel to recieve the rtf file (maybe with a filereader) you would need to pre process the rtf file into xml.
