  • channel DB connection error - please help, newby

I am creating a Mirth Channel for the very first time but having problems with it.
It is simple channel with DB connections at both ends (source and destination).

I am getting the following error:
    [2008-05-02 00:29:08,616] ERROR (org.mule.impl.model.seda.SedaModel:374): Error starting component [482bebe5-3a66-43e0-ada7-6522ac05da03]
org.mule.providers.FatalConnectException: ReconnectStrategy "org.mule.providers.SingleAttemptConnectionStrateg y" failed to reconnect receiver on endpoint "jdbc://query"

    source URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost:1443/labdb
    destination URL: jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://localhost:1443/mirthdb

What does this error really mean?
It seems to indicate a db connection error.

Are my URLs correct? If not, what should it look like?
I got this URL format from an example on the Mirth webpage.

    Please help, anyone.

P.S. Being new to Mirth and the forum, I would like to thank everyone in the forum for being so helpful.
I had post two threads previously and had learn so much from the responses.

Based on the connection strings, I am assuming that you're connecting to a MS SQL Server database? If so, can you verify that the database is running on the specified port (1443), and is accepting connections to the specified databases (labdb and mirthdb)?

Re:channel DB connection error - please help, newb

I am using SQL Server 2005 Express.
The port is 1433. I left it on the default port when I installed SQL Server.
      1443 was a typo.

I am able to connect to both databases remotely.

Does my URL have the correct format?
      jdbc:jtds: sqlserver://localhost:1433/mirthdb

Could this error be a db user related?
I have tried with the "sa" user, but it still failed with the same error.

      I am very stuck.

Thank you again very much for your help.
