  • Database source, HL7 target

I am having serious trouble wrapping my head around Mirth. My goal is to read a few rows from a remote database and then produce HL7 and ship this to an HL7 server.

I have searched a couple of days for documentation, and found some examples, but none of them for this particular case.

Could someone walk me through the major steps?

What I gathered so far is:

    1. Create a channel, source is Database Reader, destination is LLP Sender
    2. I have a HL7 template ready

    That's it.

Should I now create a source or destination transformer? What does the process of converting from database rows to HL7 look like?

    Thanks for any tips!
