  • Mirth - HTTP Sender + SSL (Why SSL Manager)

    Hello All,

I would like to understand whether community version mirth does not support https in HTTP Sender.

I see there is a notice shown when we use https, Is it just notice ? I still see messages are being posted to endpoint.

What we will miss in SSL in community version ? which SSL Manager plugin provide us in specific?

It gives out a warning that says SSL is not configured. That basically means the certificate of the HTTPS web-service you are trying to contact is not available. Not available within the java key store, that Mirth uses. Also, the certificate need be signed by a trusted CA.
This is a similar behavior you would see on some website which is HTTPS but your web-browser says not secure. The problem is with the certificate exchange that happens between the web-browser and the web-site.The communication will still happen but will be unsecured. That is the information could be compromised.

If you are doing a lot of Web-service Integration the SSL Manager Plugin (which is a paid plugin) will come handy, as it allows easy certificate import and exchange.

    I hope this helps.
