  • Triggering Mirth to send a HL7 Message to a client

    Hello everyone,

I want to ask a Question:
Usually Mirth sends a HL7-Message to a client, but the client has not prompted Mirth to send the message. Is there a way to teach Mirth to send a HL7-Message to the client only if the client "triggers" this event?

    Thanks for any advise!

Re:Triggering Mirth to send a HL7 Message to a cli

    You want a query/response channel.

    Example:
Client needs Patient address information, but doesn't store that information. Client sends Patient ID to Mirth in HL7 transaction. Mirth sends back patient id, patients name, address, city, state, zip, phone number for the Patient ID given in an HL7 transaction.

The client will send an HL7 transaction to a Mirth receiver connection. Mirth (you) will take the information and create an HL7 transaction that contains the data (maybe from an adt database) the client wants. Mirth will send that transaction back to the client.
